One of Europe's favourite Mediterranean holiday regions,
the vast Costa del Sol or 'Sun Coast' runs from the Costa Tropical south of
Granada to the tip of Tarifa past Gibraltar.
It really does have something for everyone - sandy
beaches, year-round sunshine, excellent sporting facilities and lively
nightlife. And if you like a little culture on your holidays, there's plenty
to see.
With over 300 days of sunshine a year, the Costa del Sol
is a wonderful place to enjoy a few rounds of Golf. With over 35 courses,
and more under construction, it is no wonder the area attracts golfers from
across the world.

The Costa del Sol is famous for the nightlife. There are
an enormous amount of bars, pubs and clubs to suit all ages and
nationalities on the Costa del Sol.
Many of the villages near the coast have become
fashionable resorts, while still conserving their ancient charm, whereas
others, lost in the highlands, remain rough and ready olive-farming towns,
with a special appeal for the adventurous travellers.
Inland explore sleepy whitewashed villages such as Mijas…
superb historic cities including Granada, Cordoba and Seville… the soaring
mountains of the Sierra Nevada… not to mention fiestas, flamenco and
flavoursome local cuisine. The Costa del Sol offers a lifetime's worth of
variety.

The Costa Blanca or White Coast, which extends along that section of the
Mediterranean coast, is made up of two clearly differentiated scenic sectors.
To the North, a curtain of mountains runs parallel to the sea, descending at
times to form cliffs; to the South, a vast plain of sand patches, palm trees
and salt deposits make up the backdrop for the beaches.
From cosmopolitan towns and resorts where life goes on 24
hours a day to sleepy little villages where the peace and tranquillity is
unique, the Costa Blanca is the kind of place which offers something for
everyone.

The Costa Blanca has an excellent year-round climate. The
humidity is low and is especially good for sufferers of arthritis. The
beaches are one of the biggest attractions and most of them comprise of
wonderfully clean, white sand. Most of the resorts offer a wide range of
water sports, and there are enough golf courses to keep the keenest golfers
happy all year.
The area is well serviced by Alicante airport. Alicante
is a holiday resort in itself and offers a wonderful city with great
shopping. Just south of the airport lays the resort of Torrevieja. Many new
developments are currently being built around the Torrevieja region, and
property prices are expected to increase over the coming years, especially
as the number of golf course increases.
Further south, near Cartegena, is the well-known sports
and golf complex of La Manga, property prices around this area tend to be
higher than in Torrevieja.
