The
National Association of British Schools in Spain was founded
in 1978 to promote, uphold and defend British education in
Spain.
One of its most important functions is to maintain contacts
with the British Council, the cultural arm of the British
Embassy, and with the Spanísh Educational authorities in
order to satisfy the requirements of Spanish legislation
referring to foreign schools in Spain.
These listing of schools offering a British education in
Spain contained in these Web Pages have been compiled by the
National Association of British Schools in Spain, NABSS, of
which all schools mentioned are members or affiliated
members. It is a valuable guide for parents in their search
for an appropriate education for their children, and the
information will prove useful in the selection process.
These Web Pages will also be useful to government offices,
institutions, multi-national companies and professional
agencies when asked to offer advice on educational
possibilities in Spain.
Each school is describes on a separate page with details of
size, enrolment, curriculum, fees, contact information, and
a fuller description of their ethos/facilities.
Those schools which are full members of the Association have
been authorised to impart a British education in Spain.
Those mentioned as affiliate members are not necessarily
British, but have a particular interest in the British
educational system.
Other NABSS services are the provision of professíonal
training sessions for heads and teachers, the organisation
of conferences and workshops on themes of interest to all
members, exhibitions of textbooks and equipment and regular
up-dating on changes and reforms within the British
educational system. The Association also offers a legal
advisory service to its members.
NABSS holds an Annual General Meeting every Spring and an
Executive Committee is responsible for the general
organisation of the Association's affairs. |
